  • The Studio
  • The Red House

The spirit of this studio began on Cliff Island in 1979, in a small building called “The Redhouse”. I worked on a construction crew and at my drawing board to design a first house. I have strong connections to the landscape and to the island community.

Over the years I worked with other architects on bigger projects around Maine. In 1987 I established my own Portland architecture firm, Redhouse Architects, specializing in small collaborative projects of all kinds. I have always found time to draw and paint. In recent years I have focused my studio practice on watercolor painting, printmaking and a very limited amount of design. Redhouse Studio is full of color, books, inspiration, and community.
